Bernard Leach was born in Hong Kong Jan 5th 1887. He was one of the foremost modern British potters, who influenced contemporary ceramic design. Leach took up pottery in 1911 and apprenticed himself to the 6th generation of Japanese potters working in the tradition. Years later he established the leach pottery in St. Ives, Cornwall.This Vase was created in 1958 by Bernard Leach. I like how this vase looks, especially how the mouth of the vase isn't too wide, and how curvy the body of the vase is. This vase is made out of stoneware.
